Surya Shirodhara is a portable Shirodhara system designed to make the traditional Ayurvedic practice easier and more accessible. Its lightweight, compact design allows Shirodhara to be performed without requiring a permanent or dedicated Shirodhara setup.
Depending on the pack selected, your setup can include the Surya Shirodhara device, Shirodhara Pot, Surya Oscillator and Tridoshic Oil. Please check your selected pack for the exact contents included
The Surya Oscillator is a manually operated attachment designed for the Surya Shirodhara Pot. The practitioner gently guides it by hand to create a smooth side-to-side pendulum movement of the Dhara. When movement is not required, it can be returned to the centre for a steady, centred flow. No motor. No electricity. Complete manual control.
Yes. One Surya system can support multiple Dhara therapies, including: Taila Dhara • Takra Dhara • Ksheera Dhara • Kwatha Dhara • Jala Dhara This gives practitioners greater flexibility from a single portable setup.
No. Surya has been designed to make Shirodhara possible without a permanent or dedicated Shirodhara room. Its portable design makes it suitable for clinics, wellness centres, therapy rooms and home wellness spaces.
Surya weighs approximately 1.7 kg and is designed for quick assembly, dismantling and storage. Its compact construction makes it easy to move between rooms or locations and set up whenever required.
Surya features an integrated 2-litre collection chamber in its base. During therapy, the oil flows into the chamber below, helping minimise spills while allowing the oil to be conveniently collected after the session.
Approximately 1.3–1.5 litres of oil can be used for a typical session, depending on the therapy and duration. Around 1.5 litres is generally recommended for a full Shirodhara session with Surya.
Surya's integrated collection system makes it easy to recover the oil after a session. Where appropriate, the collected oil may be reused in accordance with proper hygiene practices and practitioner guidance.
No. Surya Shirodhara does not require electricity to operate. The flow is gravity-fed and manually controlled. The Surya Oscillator is also completely manual, with no motor, wires or powered mechanism.
